Entrepreneurship is my world. Startups, coaching, being in the thick of it, building something that is greater than the sum of one. My latest venture is my most challenging and rewarding simultaneously. I’ve been fortunate to have participated in some vigorous competitions and pitch battles and still stand so …. bring on the rest ;). Here are some battle (scars):

  • Swiss Pitchfest (2017)
    • 2nd Place – International Pitch Battle
    • 18 Companies (10 South African, 8 Swiss)
    • Location: Zurich Switzerland
  • Swiss / TIA (2017) – Pitch workshop, ending in final pitch day for spot to Zurich
    • Selected as one of ten companies to participate in Swiss / TIA trip to Switzerland on the Venture Leaders program. “Swiss South African venture leaders is a framework providing motivation, entrepreneurial know-how and support to South African and Swiss scientists while contributing to strengthen the cooperation between industries of South Africa and Switzerland.”
    • Location: Cape Town
  • Standard Bank Women in Technology Accelerator (2017)
    • Selected to participate in twelve week skills development programme.
    • Selected as one of twenty companies to participate in the programme.
    • Location: Johannesburg
    • Outcome: pitching competition in August 2017, Women in Technology Conference. Pitching to corporate customers and more. Watch this space.
  • CTEC (2010)
    • 2nd Place – Cape Town Entrepreneurship Competition
    • Location: Cape Town
    • Price: R20k cash for business
  • SAB Kickstart (2010)
    • 2nd Place – Startup category
    • Location: Cape Town
    • Prize: R40k cash for business
  • Femtrepreneur Network (2008)
    • Selected as one of 12 women in technology entrepreneurs to study entrepreneurship at the University of Baltimore, Maryland (USA) – out of 200+ applicants from all over South Africa.
    • Selected to represent 12 women selected at a follow-up event in Washington DC in 2009.
    • Location: USA
    • Prize: three weeks of all expenses paid trip to USA
